Hello everyone!
I had such a lovely day visiting Kent State University....My goodness, it was beyond phenomenal and definitely one of my top picks right now. It's the top school in Ohio for majoring in a fashion related field, and that's mainly what my family and I went to check out today! The fashion program sounds like a total dream, and all students even have a chance to study abroad in Florence Italy for a semester. Amazing!

Also at Kent there is a fashion museum and it was so cool because they actually had a Katherine Hepburn exhibit there with all of the actual clothing and costumes that she wore in her movies! I got the chance to take some pictures, but I figured I didn't want to overwhelm you all with too many pictures in one post, so I'll save them for another day, hehe :)

It was such a beautiful, perfect day out that I actually took my outfit pictures at Kent around some of the cool monuments they had! There was a giant brain sculpture (weird, but really awesome), and also a wall of cement made to look like books. In addition, there was also a spot marked for where the Kent State shootings happened in 1970 which I thought was really incredible to be able to see such a historic spot.

Touring this college really made me hopeful and start to really actually look forward to my future. It made me realize that there is more for me out there than my small town can offer, and that there is a place I can go where people will accept me for who I am <3

With much love, Lauren.

I know a little bit about how you feel because I'm from a small town too. During my last year of school someone actually said to me "you're losing your friends because you never hang out with us anymore" and all i could think was how unfair that was... if they had thought to ever invite me somewhere other than the trashy local pub then I definitely would have spent time with them! Getting out and into the city and meeting other like-minded people after high school was the best thing that happened to me.

Absolutely, Lauren! I knew the moment you started strolling across a college campus and soaking up the ambiance that it would give you a whole new outlook and help you to get in touch with your greatness. On top of that you looked stunning!

I was enrolled at Penn State University when the Kent State shootings took place. When my parents and the parents of other Penn State students heard the news broadcasts they thought at first that the shootings had occurred at Penn State because the names of the schools sound so similar. It was a day of chaos, confusion and tragedy for America and one that I will always remember.

all i can say is that college is amazing. i can't believe i only have one more year left. it's probably one of the scariest things to go off to college, but just remember that all the other freshman are going through the exact same thing. when i first went to college, i thought i was going to have no friends cause i knew no one at my school, but within a month i had a group of really close best friends. believe me, you'll LOVE it! i can't tell you how much better college is than high school haha. glad you loved the school! :)
