Darling Don't Be Afraid.

Light Pink Heart Blouse (actually a dress): Modcloth.
Pink Bow Headband, Black Lace Skirt (actually a dress): Forever21.
Black T-Strap Shoes: Thrifted.
Grey Cardigan: Kohl's.
Cameo Earrings: Gift from my grandmother.

Why hello everyone!
I've accumulated so many dresses in my wardrobe that some days it literally seems like that's all it consists of! I'm quite lacking in tops and skirts, so often times I have to twist and turn my dresses to be a little bit more creative with my wardrobe. I'm actually wearing two dresses in this outfit, one I'm wearing as a top and the other one is tucked under to make a skirt. Pretty clever, eh? It's only way I can find to get a good use out of all the dresses I own!

Anyways, I exercised for the first time in oh...probably over a year (?) tonight. If you read my twitter or formspring you've probably heard about my recent weight issues after visiting the doctor a few weeks ago. I learned that I've gained twenty pounds in the last year... Partly from the OCD medicine I'm on, partly from my terrible eating habits, and partly from my lack of exercise. It's quite (okay, a lot) discouraging to know that I've gained that much weight, but there is a good point to the whole situation; I can change. I've been trying to eat healthier and I'm going to try to start exercising more. I might take up yoga soon; do any of you do it and like it? I'm unsure if I will! Definitely making my New Year's resolution this year to take better care of my body and my self esteem. I don't deserve to feel bad about myself or beat myself up!

Hope you all are doing lovely...
With much love, Lauren.

I love how girly and sweet this outfit is. Your cameo earrings are beautiful too. I love wearing jewellery from my Grandma. ♥

I loved that you turned your dress into a skirt. I do that sometimes too, for a bit of a change. Lately though it seems like I'm doing more thrifting to change up my wardrobe. Not sure if that's bad or good;)

As far as exercising, yoga is excellent!! I'd start out with beginner classes for the next few months and then transition into Vinyasa Ashtanga yoga. It'll be a better cardio yoga for more fat burning, if that's your ultimate goal. For stress release and strengthening, beginner classes should work well:) And if you're really into yoga, try hot yoga at least once in your life!! It is amazing!! And they have beginner classes for that too. I haven't practiced yoga in a long time due to low cash flow, but it seriously was the best time of my day when I went regularly.

Oh and another tidbit. If you're starting yoga and doing it from videos, go to a yoga studio first (most places give a first timer a free class for their first visit) just so you can learn the moves better. You don't want to start doing moves the incorrect way. Downward facing dog (for example) is something I did wrong for a whole year then I went to a class and had to retrain my body to do it right.

I absolutely LOVE how you used 2 dresses in your closet as a skirt and a shirt! How on earth did you do that? But I love every piece, especially your cardigan and bow:) And I totally know how you feel. I've been going to track workouts and holy moly, I am extremely out of shape. I can hardly run a mile without stopping to walk! But I have worked out a lot before, I absolutely love it, the only reason I was out of shape was because I'm recovering from a knee injury. If I were you I would start out with some yoga, its actually a great workout if you stick to it, and walk a lot. And once you get up to about and hour of walking a day (which is really easy to accomplish if you walk to/home from school everyday), and you feel comfortable with it, you can start jogging a bit! If you have any questions you can just email, Facebook, comment, any of that jazz to me. Hope that helps!

I'm trying to go on a health regime too, but college kinda kills it...but it's good that you're looking at this in such a chill manner, not hurting yourself over it. That's the most important thing!

Cute outfit, and clever, indeed, twisting those dresses around :)

Your outfit is amazing, and is very creative! I love making my wardrobe as versatile as possible, it saves me a lot of money! haha. As for the weight gain, if it's for your health, that's great. Nothing is better than feeling good. It's hard to speak for myself though. haha. I'm not the advocate for exercising. haha. But anyways, your outfit, as always is so darling.

I loved this outfit!
I've struggled with weight gain lately too, but it's something you can take control of and fix! And you'll feel accomplished when you do. I see it as an opportunity :)

Lovely post, as always!

I love this top and the texture of your skirt.

If you've gained weight, darling, it doesn't look like it and I mean it. I've been reading your blog for almost a year now (!!!!) and I haven't noticed it. While you might be gaining weight, you do NOT look bad or unhealthy or anything. You look just as beautiful as ever! But it's a great time to change and get active and be something better!

Eat healthier, watch portions if you can't eat healthier, exercise and keep your calories at the right level. That's how my dad lost over 60lbs last year.

I wish you the best of luck, my lovely lady.

Honestly, I recently put on 20 pounds as well and most people can't tell. I can though. It's always a good idea to eat healthy and exercise!

I am forever envious of your hair. I watched your tutorial a while back and I just can't tease like you do.

I love the way you do this with dresses!!! SO pretty !
I'm not sure how I feel about yoga since it is linked to religious thingies so I wouldn't really want to do it. I just tend to walk to school, do dancing and things to exercise!

This outfit is so girly and cute! I really love your cameo earrings. You did a great job reworking those dresses into seperates.

Also, I think you look great. Don't worry about your weight too much. Working out is good for you, but also remember that girls your age tend to put on a little weight because they're filling out. I don't know many people who didn't round out a bit at your age. I'm sure glad I did! So you probably don't need to lose all 20 of those pounds. Personally, I think your body looks perfect.
