A Peek Into My Town.

Hello there everyone!
It may seems as though sometimes I abhor this little town I live in, however, lately I've been feeling slightly sentimental and nostalgic about leaving it next year for college. Everything I am familar and have become accustomed to will be taken away from me and sometimes I guess that's hard to accept and grasp...

These pictures are a representation of what my favorite day in my town usually consists of. I usually start off a Saturday morning with thrifting at my local Volunteers of America and bring in a delicious Salted Carmel Hot Chocolate to sip on why I shop. Then, I'll go exploring in my downtown district which is my absolute favorite part of my town. Most of my town is considered a 'ghetto,' but the main area of my downtown called the 'carousel district' is like what I've always dreamed a little, old-fashioned town should be like. The buildings have old fashioned signs hanging from their awning and we have a cute retro diner where I like to get ice cream at during the summer months. We also have our very own carousel that has all of the animals hand carved and painted. It's a beautiful spectacle to watch and even more fun to take a ride on. I have such fond memories of having my little sister's birthday parties there years ago... There is also a quaint little antique store that has every bit and bobble you can think of in it. I love to just wander around the old antiques and listen to the sound of my heels clacking on the real wooden floors as I hear soft, classical music playing in the back round. A new little place in my downtown district that I've quickly grown to love is the new coffee shop that opened. It's what a coffee shop should just...look and feel like. Cozy and safe, like a little alcove against the world. They have all sorts of beautiful local art hanging from the walls, and not to mention decadent goodies for me to feast my eyes and stomach on.

I must learn to enjoy all of the sights, sounds, and feelings of my little old town before it's time for me to spread my wings and fly. Because perhaps I'll never quite know what I had until it's gone...

With much love, Lauren.

Forest Fairy.

Green Silk Tie Neck Blouse, High Waisted Shorts, Tan Flats: Thrifted.
Floral Headband: Claire's.
Tights: JcPenny's.

And as the seasons come and go, here's something you might like to know. There are fairies everywhere: under bushes, in the air, playing games just like you play, singing through their busy day. So listen, touch, and look around - in the air and on the ground. And if you watch all nature's things, you might just see a fairy's wing. ~Author Unknown

Lovely Little Purchases.

Hello there everyone!
I have some lovely little purchases that I've made as of recently, and can you all believe that they're actually new and not thrifted for once...? I'm sure you all are probably thinking, "lolz, wut...!?

The first purchase my mother actually kindly made for me and it is the beautiful and extremely high sparkling silver shoes! My homecoming dress is full length this year and it can't be altered because it's entirely beaded. Since I am rather short, I needed some ridiculously high heels to boost me up so that the dress doesn't drag on the ground! The shoes don't actually show under my dress though, but they do give me the proper height I need. Aren't they just the most gorgeous shoes ever...??

Secondly I purchased two headbands from Claire's the other day while at the mall. The first is a little retro pink bow headband that you might remember seeing in my beehive tutorial the other day. It was marked down ridiculously so I just had to get it! And I literally gasped when I saw that Claire's had floral crowns because I've been wanting one so badly ever since the beginning of the summer. I tried making a few myself, but they always turned out horrid!

Lastly, most of you know that Modcloth is having its annual Last Hurrah of the Summer sale and gosh... they sure got me! All of their beautiful and heartbreaking dresses are ridiculously cheap and I managed to snatch up two of my favorites. The first is the lovely light pink one with tiny hearts all over it and the second is the gorgeous and demure sheer and tiered dress. So excited to get these babies in the mail!

Hope you all are doing just lovely :)
With much love, Lauren.

Senior Pictures!

Hello there everyone!
After months and months of waiting my senior pictures are finally here! Having them makes being a senior I guess... so...real. I've been thinking a lot lately about what it means to be a senior in high school. Simple things I take for granted now, such as sleeping in my own bed and seeing my family every day, will be taken away from me in just less than a year as I venture off by myself to college! The school year seems to be moving by at the speed of light... I already have two college applications completely filled out and I'm working on my third...my last homecoming is in such two short weeks... at the beginning of September I filled out my measurements for my cap and gown... All of this seems so surreal and I'm waiting for someone to pinch me to wake me up!

Anyways, enough chit chatting about all of my fears for now ;) I hope you all enjoy my senior pictures as much as I do! I couldn't be more happier with them and my photographer Cassidy did such an amazing job... It was so hard to pick which ones to order, and which ones to pick to show you all on here! All of the hard work of planning the session, picking out outfits, suffering in 100 degree heat, and driving two and a half hours away was well worth it though ❤

And I'm Bitter Because Of You.

Polka Dot Dress, Nude Oxfords, Cream Socks: Forever21.
Green Cardigan: Thrifted.
Mustard Beret: Target.

It was such a beautiful and peaceful day out to take pictures. The leaves were gracefully falling from the tree branches as the wind picked up every now and then. Ohio has the most remarkable fall when the leaves start changing colors. I can't wait to be shooting this fall with my new camera because it captures color and mood so very well. Every day I fall in love with my camera a little bit more and more...

Yesterday I had a complete and much needed 'Lauren' day. I had the most delicious hot chocolate, went thrifting, and visited the new coffee shop in town to do an interview for the school newspaper. I ended up thrifting three new cardigans that I was in need of rather badly. This beautiful deep green one in the pictures is just one of the three!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend and continue to have a lovely start of the week tomorrow...
With much love, Lauren.

P.S. Thank you all for the incredibly kind words on my tutorial! It means so much :)
