Goodwill Style Fashion Show.

Hello everyone!
A few months ago I was so pleasantly surprised to be contacted by the Goodwill Corporation of Greater Cleveland for a lovely proposition. I actually live about an hour south of Cleveland, but for the second year the Goodwills in Cleveland are hosting a fashion show during 'Cleveland Fashion Week.' This fashion show consists of designers from local colleges sending their works down the runway, goodie bags, inspiring stories how Goodwill has helped the community, various fashionistas from all over Ohio, and Goodwill added a new addition to the show this year; fashion bloggers. I was so honored to be asked to be one of the four fashion bloggers in Ohio who will be apart of the Goodwill Style Fashion Show this coming spring!

My opportunity is one I couldn't have dreamed of having in a million years... The Goodwill Co. gave me a $100 dollar gift card to go shopping at any of the Goodwill's in their region because I get to totally style and create 7-10 runway looks out of thrifted clothing to send down the catwalk! How exciting & totally dreamy, right!? I even get to emcee my part of the fashion show and tell about my collection, which should reflect my personal style and aesthetic as a fashion blogger.

So over winter break was the first time I got the chance to do some serious thinking about my outfits! My dad and I drove up to Cleveland one day over winter break and I visited three different Goodwills. I found so many incredible items (the Goodwills are much better than the one where I live!). Golly, do I wish I could keep some of these pieces for myself ;) It was a hard task to come up with pieces that reflect my personal style, but I definitely think I came away with some gems. What I purchased includes; a leather backpack, 1960's inspired shades, a snakeskin inspired 1960's purse, a pleated 1950's pastel skirt, a black pleated skirt, a blue floral romper, a vintage floral dress, a pair of cute clog heels, a romantic white lace blouse, a cream embellished cardigan, a tan polka dot maxi dress, a lace skirt (that I want to turn into a dress), a nude Chiffon American appeal maxi skirt, a structured 1950's LBD (not pictures), and a cute plaid swing jacket. Whew, what a haul! I still have over thirty dollars left, too which means I still get to go up to Cleveland for another trip!

I am so blessed and thankful for this wonderful opportunity that Goodwill has presented to me, and I'm so glad to be doing all of this for such a good cause. Goodwill is actually an organization that helps the community and gives back which is so inspiring. I am so honored to be apart of something so wonderful!

Hope you all are doing lovely
With much love, Lauren.

Wow! What a fun opportunity! $100 to Goodwill sounds pretty awesome to me. And to be able to put together a collection of outfits. Sounds (and looks) like you got a lot of really cute things too.

Wow, that sounds amazing Lauren! I've never even heard of Goodwill doing that! My city does that type of thing with all these local boutiques that present the clothing and they pick local models to show them off. I love shopping at Goodwill, but sometimes the clothes aren't exactly what I'm looking for. But the pieces you've shown seem wonderful! <3

Love the dresses you have picked! Especially the brown polka dot one, reminds me of Pretty Woman when Julia Roberts is at the race course with than brown hat. I've been looking for a dress like that for so long! I'm thinking now of getting some made! Hahaha. I never find things like that but I suppose it's because I don't go through thrift stores often!

Btw. What do you mean in your post when you said you wished to keep the items... Don't you?!?!
