Trip To Columbus.

Hello, hello everyone!
Goodness, I had the most exciting and fun day ever yesterday! The day started off early with my mother and I going around locally to various prom dress shops to see if I could find a dress close to home. The few places we went to were nice, but nothing gave me that overwhelming feeling of just knowing it's...right. I mean, the dresses were pretty and would have pleased most people but I just knew they weren't the one. Since we didn't find anything in my hometown, we picked up my grandmother and aunt and took a trip to Columbus! Ah, I seriously love shopping in Columbus so much. It's only about 45 minutes away from where I live, but it's always such a treat to go!

We first stopped at a place called Henri's and let me tell you all, that was certaintly an experience I'll never forget...there were hundreds upon hundreds of dresses. Beautiful, colorful, sparkly, gowns of every style and shape. There were so many of them that there was hardly even any space to move. The place was absolutely packed with them! Another thing Henri's was packed with? People. My goodness, you couldn't even walk without bumping into someone it was so ridiculous. I looked around and found about three beautiful, romantic gowns that I just fell on love with...until I saw the price tag. The dresses were astronomically expensive and way out of my budget. It was so disheartening to find dresses I loved that were too far out of my price range. I knew I didn't even want to try the dresses on for fear of loving them to much, so we just left the hectic and crazed Henri's for Polaris; the main mall area of Columbus.

We all went into Sak's Fifth Ave. just for kicks to look around and I was totally floored by all of the beauty and height of fashion that surrounded me. It was like I was in a living issue of Vouge! I couldn't believe that I was looking at real Louboutins and real Chanel purses in person...I had to take some pictures, of course! After I pretty much wipped the drool out of the corner of my mouth we went and looked at some significantly more affordable places, hehe! After awhile we were all getting hungry so we ate at the delicious California Pizza Kitchen and it was too good for words. We looked at some other department stores such as Jcpenny's, Von Maurs, and such but I didn't really find anything that still spoke to me.

Surprisingly enough though when we went to Macy's I found my dream dress. I knew right when I saw it I was going to love it and upon trying it on I felt everything a girl should feel when she tries on 'the dress.' It's a nude blush colored ball gown that's strapless with a skirt full of delicate rosettes and a bodice designed with intricate swirls. The waist is lined with black pearls and beautiful diamond jewels and I feel like a modern day Audrey Hepburn in it. I could see myself at once swaying the night away in it with Matt this coming May. It's truly perfect!

After finding my dream prom dress, we also went to Forever21 in search of a white sundress to wear underneath my graduation gown (we have to wear white because our gowns are gold). Although I had no such luck finding a white dress at Forever21, I definitely swooned over all of the beautiful pieces, but really what else is new about that? I managed to take some pictures above of pretty things that had me dying. Especially those floral wedges. They were seriously to die for and I had to have so much self-restraint to walk out of Forever21 empty handed!

Finally we stopped by Delia's to see if they had any potential graduation dresses and I was certainty in luck! I found exactly what I was in search for. A little lace sundress with a cute 1950's shape. Ah, too perfect.

It was truly the most magical day yesterday and it was so dear to me to spend quality time with my aunt, grandmother, and mother before I go off to college. I'll never forget it!
With much love, Lauren.

P.S. I'll make sure to show pictures of my prom dress soon! I just thought it deserved a post all of its own

YAY! I am so glad that you found your prom AND graduation dress.

I too had to get a white dress because of gold gowns when I graduated. Haha, I remember I went shopping with my dad, because my mom was busy and he let me buy a Calvin Kline dress because it was on sale. Even though it was probably around $30, my mom had a fit because I was only going to wear it once. I am still in love with that dress though, and I'm glad I bought it.

I can't wait to see your prom dress and those Saks pictures are definitely drool worthy!

Hooray for finding the perfect dress!

Aaand ... who is this Matt person? Is he your boyfriend? Because if so that would be crazy because I'm Lauren P. and my boyfriend is Matt! And if he's not your boyfriend, well this is awkward. 0.o

Anywho! I can't wait to see this beautiful dress! I bet it looks gorgeous because everything you wear is super pretty. :)

i'm glad you found the perfect one!
in my case i had a lot of trouble finding the right one so i decided to make my own! i literally finished my dress the night before prom and it was pretty stressful but i'm so glad i did it! and another good thing was that i got splurge on shoes, i figured it was more logical because i'll get to wear them more then once so i bought my first pair of Miu Miu's!
