It's no secret that I have a lipstick addiction. I'm not really much of a make-up hoarder, but boy oh boy am I a lipstick hoarder. When I go to drugstores, I could just peer at the rainbow of beautiful tubes for hours...I want every color. The bright reds, the pretty pinks, the soft nudes, the bold oranges...Whenever I purchase a new lipstick I always proudly display it on my dresser with my other lipsticks and cherish its perfection for a few days, not daring to mess up the pointy perfection.

I had never heard of the company Lime Crime before they contacted me a few weeks back kindly asking if I wanted to try some of their lipstick out. Hmm, a lipstick addict trying out a new brand? Of course I said yes! To be honest I was a bit skeptical at first on working with Lime Crime because when I did research on them (like I always do before I work with companies) I found that it had a not so pleasant past. That research aside, I decided to try out for myself instead of basing my opinion of past happenings and honestly- I could have been more pleased

Lime Crime sent me six lipsticks, one lip gloss, and a sample of their eye shadow primer. The package arrived super quickly and in the most adorable purple striped box...I'm a total sucker for pretty packaging! I was even more delighted to open up the package and discover that each lipstick was placed in a bright, purple box sporting a glittery unicorn, and the actual tubes reflected this, likewise. For some this childish packaging may be a turn off, but for the little girl in me it certainty tickled my fancy!

Here's a list of pros and cons I thought in general on the lipsticks:

Pros:
❤ They smelled absolutely delicious. Like sweet, vanilla candy!
❤ The color literally stayed on forever. I slept with it on all night and woke up looking like I had just applied!
❤ Applies smoothly without caking or cracking.
❤ Was opaque enough that I only needed a few swipes.
❤ Did not dry my lips out, but seemed to make them smoother and more moisturized!
Come in an incredible array of colors ranging from subtle nudes to bright mints and yellows.

Cons:
❤ The price is steep for someone with a low budget such as myself. $16 for a tube of lipstick is something I simply cannot afford.
❤ I found the packaging to be cute, but rather flimsy. One of the caps to my lipsticks cracked on the first day after just placing it in my school purse.

Here's a little bit about what I thought of each individual lipstick:

My Beautiful Rocket: A vibrant, bold orange with a lot of punch. I found it really easy to wear and pull off which was surprising!
Centrifuschia: A deep pink that could flatter any skin tone. It's similar to a Maybelline one I have, but I found this one to not create cracks in my lips like the other one.
Great Planet Pink: Seriously the perfect shade of light pink! It makes me feel so innocent and girly.
Airborne Unicorn: This one was the hardest color for me to wear/pull off. It's a very in-your-face neon purple which is pretty, but harsh on my face. It looks pretty if you just blot it on your lips instead of directly apply.
Coquette: I have been searching for the perfect nude for years, and ladies and gentlemen; I have finally found it. This gave me the perfect 1960's nude bombshell lips I've been dying for.
Cosmopop: Reminds me of the color of a creamsicle. It is a light, more wearable orange versus the My Beautiful Rocket, and could also be worn as a nude.
Cherry On Top: This was the one gloss I got to try out and I was incredibly pleased. It almost looked like lipstick it was so opaque, but it had pretty flecks of sparkle and shine to it. The lip gloss didn't come off at the swipe of a finger, but stayed on wonderfully.
Eyelid Primer: This little tube of primer worked wonders. I never use primer of my lids when I apply eyeshadow, but this product makes me realize I should! My eyeshadow looked the same at the end of the day from when I first applied it, and prevented the annoying smudge of my eye liner under my lid from happening- something I've been trying to stop for ages!

All in all, I'm a bit embarrassed to say how obsessed I am with Lime Crime. I've never owned any high quality lipsticks before, and I feel so spoiled and lucky to have gotten to try some out! I definitely think that when my nude Coquette runs out I'll have to save up and buy a new one...it's too perfect to pass up! So thank you so much to Lime Crime for this wonderful opportunity, and I hope perhaps I may have helped you find your dream lipstick :)

With much love, Lauren.

I've been stalking Lime Crime for a while now since I found their blue lipstick online. I'm fascinated by their color choices and I've always wanted to give it a try, but like you said, the price point is a bit steep for just a regular gal. I'm almost willing to part with some of my money for a tube though because I, too, am a lipstick ADDICT. It runs in the family...my mom once had 13 tubes in one purse...at one time. I'm so glad you got to try these out!

I've been wanting to try their fuchsia lipstick for a while, I just might have to.

Ooh! A primer that doesn't cause annoying eyeliner lines in your crease!? That's it. I'm switching from Urban Decay primer to Lime Crime.

Thanks for the info!

Oh man, all these lipstick colors look so beautiful, especially the lip gloss and the fuschia, but I REALLY love that nude color. I like lipstick too, but I just feel that sometimes it is too much for class, but that nude color could really go from day to night. Glad you got to try these new products out!

Stayed on all night, wow! My lipstick does not even stay on an hour! Do you use lip liner (I want to love lipstick too, but it HAS to stay on).

That packaging is amazing! To be honest I was pretty much sold by the unicorns... Then again I buy perfume according to how pretty the bottle is before how it smells, so I know where my priorities lie!

Also -your photography is so good here! I think there really is difference since buying your new camera, especially in the macro shots. I know you have it quite a while now, but I was noticing today especially how good you are. :)

I've always wanted to wear lipstick, but I just don't know how to. It always seemed like something that an older lady would wear. Maybe I should give it a try...

What a pretty box to open! (I too am a pretty packaging sucker, piperlime has totally bought me off with the pretty way they ship their shoes!)

I LOVE the nude shade, I've had no luck trying to find one that looks decent, so now I may have to trot on over to their website....
