Hello everyone!
So I was up until one o'clock last night finishing the first book of The Hunger Games. The hype was worth it; so good! I'm hoping that I'll be able to get the second one finished by the end of spring break...which seems to be going by so fast! I just want a 'slow motion' button on my life right now because I want to enjoy this sweet week of relaxation forever...but time must pass and I must go back to school and I must graduate soon.

Speaking of graduation, it will be in two months as of yesterday! How scary. We've been getting final things nailed down for my party and the actual act of graduation. My school colors are actually purple and gold, but since I'm not a very spirited person I wanted to go with a classic, feminine theme of black and white damask. We have all of the decorations,  tableware, and we bought some vases last week to put on the tables. We're planning to fill with white carnations and sit on a pretty doily. Everything's coming together perfectly! My mother and I also picked up some black and white accessories to go with my white sundress I'll be wearing to the party. I'm hoping to show you all soon!

And finally today my mother and I met with the baker and discussed my graduation cake. I originally wanted fondant (it's so pretty!) but after learning how expensive and bad tasting it was I decided to go with the basic butter cream. My cake reflects the theme of my party, and has a pretty cameo silhouette on it with red roses adorning the corners. My hands are just itching to take pictures of all the beautiful things on that day!

Hope you all are doing lovely though
With much love, Lauren.

This dress looks lovely on you!

Your party sounds awesome! I never had a really elaborate party, just family. I love the theme, it sounds so classy and you! :) (And you are so right about fondant- bleck.)

Wow, that color red looks fantastic on you!

So exciting about graduation! Two years ago when my sister graduated we had so much fun with the hype and excitement of planning and looking forward to *the* big day.

Btw, I can't help but look at your pictures and think how much you remind me of Barbra Feldon back in the 1960's...you are both so cute and feminine. Haha...random...just had to mention :)

I took some cake decorating classes awhile back and you are so right about fondant: it takes awful! It is kind of tricky to work with, so that may be the reason for the high cost. I know you can flavor it, but a butter cream or whipped cream frosting is so much tastier and can be really pretty when done well. The party sounds lovely. Please post some pictures after you have it.

This is such a beautiful dress, red always looks fantastic on you and I love the full skirt, it looks so swingy! The details of this dress are fantastic, the cutouts are really pretty, and your hair is amazing! (It looks like it too so long to do, but I love the look of it.)

Lovely dress! I love Lulu's =) But I think fondant icing tastes great but I hear from everyone how they don't like it as much so maybe I'm the weirdo? lol

Ooh! Your cake sounds lovely! I seriously need to start planning my grad party. I have lots of idea but no real *plans.* The only thing I have ready is my dress - and that still needs to be taken in! Eep! So much to do!

And that dress is gorgeous. Red is one of my favorite colors! <3

Red dress=very classy.! Love i! Speaking of fondant, you are so right. Wedding cakes might look all fab because they're covered in the stuff, but eating plastic-like cake was never really my thing!

This dress is beautiful and I love how you styled it. Red works well with your skin. This look would be perfect if the chest area fit you better. Though it would be very scandalous.

Ohmygosh, Lauren, this dress is so stunning on you! You look absolutely glamorous! ♥ Gah, cannot get over how fabulous you look. I've had my eye on this BB Dakota dress for a while, but I've been hesitant about how it would fit me in the bust. Do you like the fit?

THE HUNGER GAMES. Ohhhhh yes! Team Peeta forever. ♥ I just saw the movie for the second time, haha. The books are so good...I'm working on reading them for a second time, too. Just a little obsessed. ;)
