Checkerd Dress.

Checkard Dress, Black Bow Clutch, Cat Eye Sunglasses: Thrifted.
Black and White Bow Pumps: Cato's.

Hello everyone!
Oh my word have I missed you...the past few days have been crazy. I started working and it feels like I actually live there now. I work tomorrow morning and all day Saturday and Sunday, as well. Before I picked my job back up again, I feel like I didn't realize how blessed I was to have all the free time in the world to blog. Blogging is one of the things I love most in life. It keeps me sane. It keeps me grounded. It keeps me inspired. It keeps me, well, alive. Not physicaly, but mentally. I just feel so much more mentally stable and satisfied when I can blog. Going out into nature and snapping pictures, coming here as a sort of 'online diary' and getting to interact and be inspired by hundreds of lovely people. I don't think I could ever give up blogging.

Work has been good though. At times it's fast paced and at time it's slow and dull. It's hard for me sometimes because I want to be a control freak and make everyone happy but you know what I'm learning? Sometimes you just can't. I can't make the other hostesses, servers, customers, managers, and myself happy every day, all the time. I need to focus on what I can do and not what's out of my control. Something I'm definitely learning- the hard way.

I picked up quite the little bundle of clothing at the thrift store the other day for $10 and this is one of the dresses I got! I love it so, so much. It reminds me of a dress Audrey H. would wear. So, I dressed up and pretended like I was her for a day. Shucks, who wouldn't want to be?

Speaking of Audrey, I got a package from Barnes and Noble that I ordered with a gift card and got a huge poster of her for my dorm room. So perfect! I also ordered a new journal (mine is almost full since I write every night), a Vera Bradley ID holder (for my Kent Card), and a copy of 50 Shades of Gray. I heard it's good. Have you all read it yet? I started it at the pool earlier today and am just getting into it!

Hope you all are swell
With much love, Lauren.

You look so much like Audrey in these photos. Absolutely gorgeous.

I know how it feels to be job free and then starting at one. It's such a transition from having all this free time to someone else owning your soul and literally paying for it. Maybe it's because I work in a big retail store that I feel like my soul is owned, or maybe that's just all jobs.

So much Audrey going on here! Love it!

I feel exactly the same way about blogging. You will feel even more so in college, trust me, that is what got me blogging in the first place. I just needed something for me and since I didn't want to destroy my liver every weekend, I gave my precious free time to blogging.

I heard that 50 Shades of Grey is so scandulous, but I definitely want to read it! :P

Eek! Have you seen the big storm over on feminist and other blogs about that book? I've probably seen 8+ bloggers talk about it and almost all have said how bad the writing is, the problematic portrayal of BDSM consent, ect. Fun fact: it started off as a piece of Twilight fanfiction. Nothing against it, 'course, on that, but it makes me curious which characters are which...
