Cozy Fall.

Skinny Jeans, Tan Pea Coat, Brown Scarf: Forever21.
Red Sweater: Thrifted.
Boots: c/o Pink and Pepper.

Hi there ♥
Wanted to thank you all so, so much for all of the condolences on yesterday's post. I wasn't expecting that kind of response because he's just a 'cat' to all of you. But silly me as always, I should know that even though he was just a cat to all of you, because he was mine and because I am in pain you all care. It just meant a lot to me and I appreciate it more than you can imagine.

These photos were taken a few weeks back in October by Erin. We went on a coffee date down by the fashion building and I've been itching to take some farther away photos by it. The lamp posts and winding sidewalks are just ideal, romantic scenery. Not necessarily was I taking outfit photos. Just photos in general that capture the sense of fall. I love how photos capture a feeling, especially of a season. The cozy layers I'm wearing, the changing leaves, the warm coffee in my hand...all are little details that help the brain wrap around the puzzle pieces of the story. I love how photography does that.

With much love, Lauren.

This outfit is so casual and cozy-looking. I just love your classic coat and how perfect it looks with your red sweater.

I'm so sorry to hear about your cat. Losing a pet is just about the worst thing in the world. I'm still getting over my dog dying and it's been months. My heart goes out to you Lauren!

Hi,
I read your post about Rascal and it had me in tears! I had a dog that was part of the family before I was even born, and when he passed away at 16, I felt so empty. It was like a part of the foundation of my life had just disappeared. Even now, after so long, it's still hard for me to bear. I think animal deaths are even more difficult than human deaths for some reason. The heartbreak is so much more painful, especially when the animal has been through everything with you. They become a constant in your life and when they die it's so shattering. I sat for days after losing my dog just feeling so out of place and strange. I learned the meaning of the word 'mourning' . Even though, like you said, there are no words for it, I totally and completely understand your pain. Rascal was a very handsome kitty, and I bet he was even cuter in real life. I have a cat too, and for some reason I was reminded of him when I saw your pictures. I think cats are a girl's best friend, and losing your best friend is one of the hardest things to get through. I'm sure though, that you have a lot of memories of him that will make you smile. God is taking care of him.
I really hope you start to feel better! Your outfit pictures always brighten my day!
