Super Saturday.

Blazer: Forever21.
Blouse: Thrifted.
Skirt: c/o OASAP.
Heels: TJ Maxx.

Hi everyone!
Today was 'Super Saturday' or otherwise known to the retail business as the second busiest day of the year behind Black Friday. Ahh consumerism. Being on the other side of it working this year it all seems quite mad. This rush and mad craze for material items when, I don't know, what else do we REALLY need? I know I don't need anything in particular this Christmas. I have things I kinda want, but nothing that would really make me any much happier with my life and how it is right now. I just get confused and saddened by this materialistic society we're in. I know we can't function if we didn't 'buy things' (markets would crash) but the whole craze just seems unnecessary.

Anyways. It was really fast paced and fun to work today. I worked register which is somewhat uncommon for me because I kind of get freaked out about messing up, but they put me on today and it went wonderful! I didn't stop once checking people out--the line was a constant wrap around the back store.  I've got a seven hour shift tomorrow that should be much of the same! Call me crazy, but I'm looking forward to it. I find retail hard, but very rewarding and enjoyable! x

Hope your holiday shopping is done and you don't have to be out in this crazyness.

With much love, Lauren.

You are so lucky to work retail! I want a retail job so bad, but I'm having trouble finding one in my small town. I just think it would be so much fun getting to be surrounded by clothes.

I find all of the consumerism surrounding Christmas to be a little much at times. I mean, sure I like receiving gifts as much as the next person, but I think spending time with loved ones is the best gift of all!

That skirt is such a lovely color and that blazer works great for you. No closeup of those lovely tights but that last shot was wonderful :) You look so happy, dear. That is amazing to see and makes my heart glad. Have fun at work :)

I work in retail as well and now with Christmas and sales people really are getting crazy, not to mention the lines for the fitting rooms and the tills. I am actually looking forward to things to calm down, it is much more enjoyable when things are not that insane xD
You look great as always! I love the blouse!

I love the muted Christmas colors of this outfit. I also hate how crazy the malls and stores get around this time when everyone is rushing to get gifts last minute. I also hate the few days after Christmas when everyone is returning things. I usually wait til after the new year to go spend my gift cards...haha.

I agree that Christmas consumerism is a little outrageous. Why can't we all just remember the reason for the season?

I love that top, and the colors go perfectly together! Working retail this time of year is absolutely insane, but the hustle and bustle gives me a headache. I wish I could enjoy it like you!

I work retail too and by god, the Holidays are a crazy time! And right after New Years our month-long sale starts and that's when it gets really crazy in our store :) I never work the register, but am always on the floor helping customers find what they need and helping them place orders and such. During the holidays however, I am more a cleaning lady than helping around because of the madness. Everything's on the floor and people leave SO much stuff behind in the fitting rooms. It's a hectic period indeed, but it's also my favorite as the days truly fly by! Anyway, what I really wanted to say is that this is an outfit after my own heart. I love the combo of red and olive, and that blazer makes the whole look so sophisticated. Love it! xo

Most years I have no problem naming a handful of things I want - this year though, much like you, I couldn't think of anything. It's totally for the best! My life is filled with so many people & things that I don't need much more. I think I struggled when someone asked me what to buy and I just said, "Uh.. deodorant?" lol I might be getting a lot of bathroom essentials this year because I'm too lazy to shop for them myself.

Good luck at work! I don't know how you do it, but just keep your positive attitude about you and power through the day. :)

I get annoyed by people who knock things into the floor and don't pick them up!!!

Working retail sounds like a lot of fun! I only ever worked at a grocery store before working on campus, so I do know a little bit about crazy busy days.

Anyway, this jacket is so super cute! Blazers are just the best!

Have a good holiday, hon!

What a cool way to wear red and green! I always love seeing people pull off this color combination. I'm also in love with your spiked shoes and enjoy every time you wear them. They're full of edgy badassery.
