Hello everyone

Today was breathtakingly beautiful. I'm in awe of the beauty God has put on this earth! The weather was such a marvelous treat today and it's going to be 80 degrees tomorrow...not sure how I feel about that! I think I've forgotten how to dress for that kind of warmth...

I was super excited to get this dress in the mail the other day. Always been a dream of mine to own a floaty trapeze mini in a pretty lace fabric. Free People has perfect ones, but always at too high of a price point for me. I've tried a few on here and there at various lower priced stores...but these darn hips of mine, I tell ya. Can't get a darn thing over them, so the trapeze shape was never all that trapeze but more of a skewered triangle, ha. I was anxious to see if this one would fit, and thankfully it slipped right on. What a dream-- can't wait to frolic in it all summer and I plan on taking it to Italy with me! Contemplating buying it in the red because you all know me and my love affair with red...

I had a dear and old friend come up to visit me at Kent yesterday and had the best time! We've known each other since middle school when we swam together, so it's nice that seven years later that things are more or less the same with our friendship. He's still a goof and I'm still far too serious, so we balance each other out to a middle ground to have a good time. We ventured off to Akron and walked around the city exploring, plus visited an awesome vintage clothing store/antique shop. My heart never beat so fast as when I looked at those racks of vintage dresses, ha. He also brought up TWO boxed of donuts for us so I mean, of course we stuffed our faces with creamy, chocolatey goodness in the Mcdonald's parking lot. I also took him to the famous Mike's place for breakfast; a cult favorite around here for hungover college students to get cheap and good food on the weekends. It's fantastically corny and themed, so of course I had to be embarrassing and ask to sit in the boat that has a steering wheel and everything. Oh Mike's Place...you sure are a little charmer....

Weekend is going good here! My roommate and I made chocolate mousse tonight out of everything we could scrounge together at the local dining hall. It turned out surprisingly really delicious...and we watched a fantastic Natalie Portman movie to boot. Life's swell.

With much love, Lauren.

You look so lovely in this dress and I love the 60s bohemian vibe of these pictures :) I have the same problem with my hips so I know how much of an accomplishment it is to find a dress that works for them haha.

Mike's place sounds so fun! I'll have to check it out since I don't think it's that far from me. Anywho, I think you should definitely get that dress in red--it would look fantastic!

Such beautiful beautiful photos, and that dress is gorgeous on you :)
I've always wanted to be able to pull off the trapeze style but it just never looks quite right on me! You've inspired me to keep looking though, because you looks so lovely in this one!
Sounds like it was a fun weekend!
