London Part II.

Hello everyone!

It's probably become pretty clear from my lateness in posting London photos that travel posts really aren't my favorite to do -__- It's not that I don't like them per say, but there's always just so many photos and so much I did that I feel like it's not something anyone is really interested in hearing about, nor is it really all that interesting to write about either. But, I know some people do enjoy hearing about my travels, plus I have a lot of family who read my blog to stay up to date, so I think it's important to keep this blog updated with my photos and activities. For me, I keep a journal throughout every trip of the things I do, but having a visual and written documentation here is sort of nice, too.

I already tried starting to post some of the London photos a few weeks ago here with part one; and after this one I just have two more parts and should be finished up and ready to move on.

The third and fourth days I was in London I just did little things here and there and didn't have any huge plans. My class and I went to the Victoria and Albert Museum where I got to see an amazing exhibit on vintage wedding dresses throughout the centuries. They also had an archive of vintage clothing that of course caught my eye! Photos weren't allowed in either exhibit though which was a bummer. After, we had free time to explore around London and I checked out the famed Harrod's, Topshop, and other Brit brands that we can't get in the US. Then I went on a mission to find a Superdrug in the city so I could get my hands on some Zoella and Tanya Burr beauty products, but came up empty handed (my search for a super drug continued the next day and day after too when I finally found one, ha). But! I did stop into Boots which was such an amazing cosmetic/pharmacy type place where they had so many British goodies. I came away with a delicious smelling maple sugar body scrub from Soap and Glory which I was seriously so delighted with! That evening, our class saw a production of Warhorse at the theater and it was phenomenal. I haven't seen the movie nor read the book, so it was all new to me and I enjoyed it a lot.

The next day we went to a place in London called the Cockpit Arts studio where we toured the facility. It was a cool concept where this studio rents out work spaces for beginning artisans who make anything from prints, to purses, to knit wear, to pottery. They kind of help new artists get on their feet and learn the business aspect of their field, so it was very interesting to hear the stories of all these artisans and how they're making it out in the real world (where I'll be soon!). Then later on in the day we visited a design school in London where we had a presentation on sustainable fashion which I talked about the other day in a post.

Also, it was super fun that fourth day because I got to meet up with a fellow blogger and blog reader, Jess! Meeting up with people who read my blog is my favorite-- whether it's back in the States, in Italy, or any of the places I go. It's fascinating to me to be able to meet people across the world, who I meet through the internet and develop these connections and friendships with. It's always a treat to be able to meet 'internet friends' in person! Anyways, Jess and I met for coffee at Costa but unfortunately had to leave soon after because this man started having a horrible seizure! He was right behind me and in a high top table chair, and when he started seizing fell off and cracked his head on the floor. The whole thing was so scary and we left, but thankfully an ambulance did come to pick him up and take him to the hospital.

Then, we decided to go and try the Primark so we hopped on the tube only for my nose to massively start bleeding?! I've never had a nose bleed in my entire life and wasn't quite sure what was happening. It was embarrassing to be on this public transport with blood running out everywhere and I started to panic because it wasn't stopping and I didn't know what to do. Jess was an absolute angel though (literally, amazing) trying to calm me down, handing me tissues, and changing my gross bloody ones. Seriously, who does that for a pretty much complete stranger? An angel I tell you. We got off the underground and it stopped for a bit, but when we tried to hop back on another it started again (possibly because of the pressure and because the air was so dry). At this point, my anxiety about the whole thing got to me and I started crying and having a panic attack, so we went to try and find a medical center to see if they could help, but they wanted to charge me an arm and a leg to look at me. So, we got a taxi back to where my class was meeting because I was too nervous to take the metro again for fear of bleeding profusely again, and Jess took care of me the whole way back.

I felt just awful...what should have been a great afternoon of blog friends getting together turned into a (pun intended) bloody mess...Jess was amazing though, calming me down and going above and beyond to help. She is a true gal and I'll never forget her kindness, and hope we can meet again someday under better circumstances!

Whew. Okay. One more day guys of London, but I have to divide it into two posts because it's a lot of photos! It's all of the great touristy things I did. x

With much love, Lauren.

It was an absolutely crazy afternoon but one that we'll both remember for quite a while, I'm sure! It would be lovely to meet up again and have a proper day out!
Much love xx

Ah I always say boots is like a sweet shop for adults. I can never come out empty handed! Soap and glory is such an awesome brand - you did good!

Great post! I am exactly the same when it comes to travel posts- I only just published my last Croatia holiday post at the weekend just gone and I came back from there on the 21st August! I never did publish my Florence post from 2-3 years ago- a draft is languishing in my blogger draftsbox!

Oh, I finally saw Zoella in a magazine, she's really pretty! I didn't know what she'd look like but it wasn't what I expected.

I always, always find your travelogue posts scintillating! .... Bless Jess (rhyming intended :) A true friend - however they are formed (f2f, virtual) - is not resistant to blood, sudden changes of plans, OR panic attacks -- sounds like you've found a spectacular one!

Wow that was an eventful time! Nose bleeds are scary if you haven't had one before. Well done to Jess what a great heart she has.
