"Hurt me with the truth, but never comfort me with a lie"

I don't understand why people lie. I just don't. They say it's to protect your feelings, because they love you and don't want to hurt you. But it only ends up hurting more, cutting deeper than the truth ever could.

Lies lead you on. They lead you into hope and dreaming and happiness. A false happiness that is shattered so much when the truth is broken. At least with the truth you can move on and begin to find a pure happiness that you deserve.

I never want to lie to the people I love because I know how much it hurts. I don't understand how you can do that to a person you love, if you really love them. Always tell the truth. It may be so hard to hear, but it's the right thing to do. And those who love you, will love you no matter what the truth is. Just tell them.

With much love, Lauren.

Oh, my word. This is perfect. I don't get liars either and even the "small" lies are hurtful-I would rather someone ignore me than be insincerely polite. I don't understand why people lie-it makes everything so much harder. I hate lying and insincere people-all forms of deception, and I have never even had those people treat me as painfully as you have. I don't like when people lie to other people-it is all personal because you know you cannot trust that person not to lie to you.

beautiful outfit! I admire your bravery, in the cold with just a thin sweater :)
You're so true about lying though. Even though sometimes people lie out of love, it's always better to know the truth xx

I love this dress, and that tapestry purse too! And liars are...confusing. The only liars I like are Aria, Spencer, Hanna, and Emily- and that's only because they are pretty, and don't honestly exist! Love your blog!<3

YES YES YES YES (and P.S. I love your OOTD!)!!! Lauren, I'm disabled, and I'll tell you this: anytime I've ever come down with a new "something", I go frantic - panic, upset, etc. UNTIL I GET THE DIAGNOSIS. Once I know it has a name - even if it doesn't have a cure, even if it's chronic - I'm fine. BECAUSE THAT'S THE TRUTH, AND THE TRUTH HAS A NAME!

I agree with your sentiments about lying. I just really can't stand people who are liars. I don't understand the need to make crap up and I've always felt this way ever since I can remember. People. I just shake my head at them.
Anyway, this is such a sweet little outfit! I love this mix of navy and light pink. You've given me a new idea for a color combination!

I agree completely about lies that people say and why they do it. So many say they want to protect people from hurt. . .but that just hurts them more. I love your dress here. Very lovely. Sorry I haven't commented on all your posts lately, but I do look at them still!!
