This past weekend I went with my friend, Erin, to downtown Kent for a little coffee date. There's some incredible coffee shops downtown, but I don't go too often because it's about a half hour walk (and I am a lazy human being). But, Erin and I decided to make a special little venture to go down and enjoy a cup of jo not courtesy of the sketchy Kent State coffee machines for an afternoon.
We went to Tree City, a bopping coffee shop that's close quarters; but isn't that the best kind? I ordered a cheddar biscuit with raspberry jam to nibble on and my ever-so-predictable cafe mocha. It was good to catch up with Erin and we chatted about movies and actresses and Oscar's and such.
I, of course, have a terrible sweet tooth and had to get a piece of cookie dough cheese cake before we left. I'd have one every day if I could they're so good... we went back to Erin's dorm and watched Black Swan which was darn good but freaked me out nonetheless. I guess it means it's a good movie if it upsets you mentally and physically.
Having friends is nice. I really don't talk about what I do with them much on here and I really don't know why. I love each and every friend I've made here at Kent so much. I cherish them like they'll never know, because I understand and can still remember what it was like to once not have friends. It will be very odd going back to my home town for the summertime because it'll be like I never had a life here at all. I'll go back to being the same old Lauren who does the same old things and still has the same old life she had in high school. I'm very nervous. I'm going to miss my friends here very much when it's time for summer break.
For now, I'll just enjoy every second with them that I can.
With much love, Lauren.
