Went to Columbus the other day to spend some gift cards for places we don't have here at my local mall. Picked up a beautiful new MAC lipstick that I'm wearing in these photos called Diva. I've been wanting a dark, wine/burgundy color for quite sometime and this one is perfect! I was torn between Diva and Dark Side because they're essentially the same color, but Diva is a matte finish and Dark Side was an amplified. I went with Diva though because I didn't want so dark of a color sliding around on my lips and the matte finish helps it stay on long and last.
Also picked up...these trousers? So strange for me! I've never owned trousers before, but 2014 must be the year that I apparently do. I was surprised that I liked them because I generally don't really like how I look in any pants, but these work well, gliding over my wider thighs and hips. Excited to explore styling options with these! I also got my dream pair of high waisted jeans at Forever21, as well, and can't wait to show you all!
I was just thinking today how awesome it is taking portraits nearly ever day. Not in a conceited way like I loveeee seeing myself, but I just think it's so cool to see the progression of my body and face as I get older. I think about my grandparents and even my parents who have so few photos of themselves throughout their lives, and that makes me sad. I want to have lots of photos to show my children and grandchildren of me when I was younger. I think style and what you wear says a lot about who you are, and it'll be awesome that they'll get to see my personality just through photos like these. Sounds dumb, but I cherish all of these blog photos. They are this snapshot in time that represents a memory, a moment. Glad I'll always have a place to store these and remember them.
