Turtlenecks have been my #1 piece for my wardrobe this fall. Growing up I always hated them because they were made of various itchy fabrics and made me feel like I was being choked. In high school I still deemed them un-cool and rather 'babyish" and really haven't worn them throughout college until this year. I don't know, something about them to me finally clicked and I realized they're the simplest way to look put together, sleek, warm, and on trend. I've been obsessed with thrifting them this fall, and just got this baby blue mockneck yesterday to add along with a plain black one I have and another cool, neutral striped. I think the baby blue is a really interesting, unique color you don't see often, and its pastel hue actually works really well for the winter months as an accent piece. My next turtleneck I've been on the hunt for is a chunky cream one to stay cozy in all winter long... ❄
I've got some pretty exciting news to tell you all that I found out last week; I'M GOING TO NEW YORK!!! Unfortunately, it's not for good (looking forward to the day I get to tell you all that!), but I'm going for a few days in December over my Christmas break as my present from my parents (love you guys & thank you again). Honestly, I have never been more driven and passionate for anything in my life. It's been three months since I left and I, truly, wake up every morning and go to sleep every night thinking about it. Often people say when they meet their husband/wife, "you just know" and that's how I feel about New York. It's something that cannot be explained. Nothing has ever felt so right to me... I work so hard every darn day to get back for good and I've been more focused than ever this semester on everything from school, to work, to this blog. I will exhaust all options until I get there.
But for now, I am just over the moon to be going for those few days by myself to be immersed into everything I love again. I plan on just really wandering and seeing whatever I can, so any suggestions of must see places you have leave them in the comments! I'll be taking a bus from Ohio to Manhattan and then staying in an Airbnb for the few days I'm there. All I can think about every day is being there again...it feels quite surreal that I'll see myself wandering down the busy streets of the beautiful concrete jungle of opportunity. x
With much love, Lauren.
