Since the beginning of the fall I've been very into super muted, earth toned 70's looks. I find that's what my general style aesthetic is molding into as of late with a mix of late 90's mod classics (plaids, mock necks, black ankle boots yeah!). I've condensed most of my wardrobe honestly down to a shockingly small skeleton of what it used to be, and I find I'm more content with it than ever. Instead of having a bunch of pieces I wear every now and then, I have a ton of much loved & used favorites that comfortably await me. I'm working on making my whole wardrobe completely thrifted (shoes + accessories included) and am doing pretty well! This outfit is entirely thrifted & I just brought in a huge haul of pieces from my local VOA to continually style head to toe second hand looks. They feel just so right to me, vintage clothes. I love that they've been loved and given a life previous to mine and that I get to continually make them into something new.
I'm kinda bummed to think about not thrifting as much when I move to NYC because I've found they just don't have good thrift stores there. Everything is very picked over and much, much too over priced. Oh well. I suppose it will make coming home & relishing in the aisles of striped, floral, polka dot, solid, and patterned garments feel all the more comforting and exciting to sift through again. x
With much love, Lauren.
