Birthday Shopping!

Hello everyone!
Every year for my birthday I get to go shopping in Columbus for a huge treat. This is the only time of year I only really get to go 'shopping' other than the occasional online purchase I make and the thrifting I do locally. Although visiting my favorite stores that I don't have around here is a blast, my favorite part honestly is just spending the day with my mother, aunt, and grandmother. It's always so much fun to have a total girl's day and just bond, you know? No material possessions will replace the love I have for my family! I'm going to miss them so much when I go away for college (still contemplating how I'm going to cope...)

Anywho, we left early for Columbus which is about 50 minutes from where I live. With a bit of Starbucks to get me awake and chit chatting I was already so excited! We went to Polaris, a huge mall in Columbus with every store imaginable. I stopped at Delias, Forever21, Charlotte Russe, American Eagle, and MAC. I went to a few other stores, as well, but these are the only ones I purchased from.

For lunch we went to California Pizza Kitchen and munched on delcious Five Cheese + fresh tomato pizza and the traditional pepporoni. Not to mention at the end of the night we stopped at The Cheese Cake Factory for the most delcious slice of heaven I've ever eaten. I got the Chocolate Mousse Cheesecake....ah, so good!

In years past (last year, two years ago) I've certainty gotten carried away with shopping and tended just to 'buy to buy.' This year I was really proud of myself though and the versatile pieces I bought rather than just junk. I love each and every single piece to death (hello peter pan collar obsession) and here's a few details about each by order in which they appear:

Apple Dress with White Peter Pan Collar: Forever21.
Red 1940's Inspired Dress: AE.
Black Sleeveless Collar Shirt: Forever21.
White Collar Blouse: Forever21.
Pink Lace Blouse: Forever21.
Teal Sleeveless Blouse: Forever21.
Mint Lace Dress: Delia's.
Mint Skinny Jeans with Zippers: Charlotte Russe.
Tan Buckle Satchel: Forever21.
Magenta Lace Skirt: Forever21.
Black Pleated Skirt: Forever21.
Multi Strand Pearl Necklace: Forever21.
Heart Pendant Necklace: Forever21.
Rose Ring: Forever21.
MAC Matte Lipstick in 'Russian Red.'
MAC Powder Blush in 'Frankly Scarlet'

I have so many dresses already in my wardrobe that I'm always turning into skirts and tops, so I thought it was time to invest in some real skirts and tops! They'll be so much more versatile in my limited college wardrobe. Also, a pair of mint skinnies have been on my wishlist for the longest time and I was so happy to get my hands on a pair! The mint, lace dress from Delia's is literally MY DREAM DRESS. I say it a lot, but I really have found it, folks. And I had never purchased anything from MAC before and really wanted to invest in a nice, red lipstick because it's the one I use the most (and know wouldn't be a waste). Also, I've never seen a red blush before (I've looked everywhere!) and it's my favorite color to wear... so I decided to invest in it, as well. It just about killed me to spend so much money on two makeup products, but I love them so much!

*Funny side story on my MAC blush. I'm used to cheap drugstore blushes that need to be brushed on a hundred times, but with one swipe of this I had fire engine bright cheeks. All of the employees were cracking up and laughing at me because I literally looked like a doll with painted on cheeks. They told me to go easy on it at home, ha ;)*

It might come as a surprise to you all, but I'm actually not going to wear any of these clothes until I move to Kent. I want to have some pretty, new things to make me feel confident on campus and I just feel as though I should wait because these really are my new 'fall' clothes. It's going to kill me to have all these beautiful pieces just sitting in my closest, but I am going to treat myself and wear one of them for my birthday on Wednesday!

Hope you all had a fantastic weekend!
With much love, Lauren.

P.S. TODAY WAS MY LAST DAY WORKING AT CHEDDAR'S! WHOOPE! :D

Ah this is so exciting! I love seeing hauls and I was following your Instagram pictures all day so I was expecting this post. The Delia's dress is so lovely. My jaw dropped when I saw it because of how perfect it is for you! Also, I totally say that red American Eagle dress in my local store today and thought "oh Lauren would love this!". I definitely understand not wearing your clothes until Kent. It'll help you really decide what you want to pack other than your new things. Looks like you had a great time :)

Much love,
Ashlyn

Love all the clothes. The blue lace dress and the pink skirt are my favorite. This sounds like such a fun trip. And I do the same thing with my clothes, not wearing them until school starts again. YA, for being done at Cheddars.

Haha! Now I know why you said what you did on Twitter! I'm adoring all of those tops and dresses. Peter Pan collars are the sweetest things, and I think I need to just make one for myself so I can wear it with everything. Maybe one out of lace, one black, and one white one. :) I saw that apple print dress at F21 and it is soooo cute! But my bust is too big for it. :( I can't wait to see it on you though! I'm glad you had an amazing day! <3

Peter pan collars, it just doesn't get better than that! I have to agree with you, I love, love wearing dresses, I get so much more wear out of my blouses and skirts, so much easier to remix and to play around with!

And on a side note: Doesn't AE have like the cutest items in right now? I ever use to be a fan of them, but they've had so many cute garments this year! Tons of lace, peter pan collar, pleats, just tons of cuteness. You look like you had so much fun shopping, everything is competely adorable. (Those mint skinnies with the zippers are so pretty!)

Happy Birthday! Looks like a lot of really cute stuff. I'm trying to get my little boys to save their new stuff for the beginning of school, which is only 1 1/2 to 2 weeks away, but they won't do it; they want to wear them now. So I think it's a great idea to save the new stuff so it still feels special when you start college.

First of all, HAPPY BIRTHDAY LAUREN!!!!

You totally deserved to shop your little heart out! I hope next year, on my birthday, I can go on a fun shopping spree like you did!

You are so lucky that you got a pair of mint skinny jeans! I have been wanting a pair for the longest time (actually, I have been wanting a pair of pastel skinny jeans for the longest time! LOL!!). I love that pink lace skirt that you got. I would totally wear it.

I have never been to mac, but I would love to go there some day. You got some pretty makeup!

I was wondering if you had an words of wisdom for fashion bloggers. Also, when you start college can you do a post on being a fashion merchandising major because I want to major in fashion merchandising.

As I was looking through the photos, I have to agree that the mint dress looks the best! I also think it looks really timeless, like it could suit you for years to come. It makes me kind of nostaligic for America reading you post about the California Pizza kitchen. I loved that place last time I was in America! I remember having pear on a pizza which is a genius idea.
